A leading manufacturer of world-class food processing, sorting and milling technology is looking to appoint an Area Sales Manager to take responsibility for customers across the UK and Republic of Ireland .
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded sales professional with strong relationship-building skills and technical aptitude to join a respected global business serving some of the biggest names in the food manufacturing sector.
Whether your background is in machinery, engineering, automation, food processing, technical sales or industrial equipment, we're keen to speak to candidates who can combine strong account management skills with the ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
The Role
Reporting to senior leadership, you'll manage an established customer base across the UK and Ireland whilst developing new opportunities within food manufacturing and related industries.
This role is typically:
70% Account Management
30% Business Development
You'll work closely with customers ranging from independent processors through to major food manufacturers, supporting projects from individual machine sales through to complete production line solutions.
Following a structured onboarding and training programme, you'll become the key point of contact for your territory and play an important role in driving continued growth across the region.
Regular UK and Ireland travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop existing customer relationships across the UK and Ireland
Identify and convert new business opportunities within the food manufacturing sector
Promote a range of processing, sorting and inspection equipment
Manage the full sales cycle from enquiry through to order
Conduct customer meetings, site visits and technical discussions
Build relationships with production, engineering, operations and procurement stakeholders
Prepare quotations, proposals and commercial agreements
Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and pipeline activity
Represent the business at exhibitions, trade shows and customer events
Work closely with internal technical and service teams to ensure successful project delivery
Requirements
Proven B2B sales experience
Ability to travel across the UK 1-2 weeks a month
Strong account management and relationship-building skills
Technical aptitude and the ability to understand engineering or process-based solutions
Experience managing a sales territory
Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
Full UK driving licence
Desirable
Food manufacturing or food processing industry experience
Technical food industry knowledge
Experience selling machinery, capital equipment, conveyors, automation, packaging equipment, processing equipment or industrial engineering solutions
Engineering or technical qualifications
Experience working with production, factory or manufacturing customers
