We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established housing organisation for an experienced Housing Officer to join their team covering Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. This is a varied and rewarding opportunity for a Housing Officer who enjoys working directly with customers, managing complex housing issues and making a visible difference within local communities.
You will manage your own diary, combining home working, office-based working and regular visits to customers, neighbourhoods and partner agencies.
The Role:
- Manage a busy and varied caseload covering tenancy and neighbourhood management.
- Deal with tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour, safeguarding, tenancy fraud and tenancy changes.
- Investigate issues, gather evidence and take appropriate action.
- Progress legal or formal enforcement action where required.
- Build positive relationships with customers and support tenancy sustainment.
- Work with local authorities, community groups and partner agencies.
- Visit customers, neighbourhoods and properties across the local area.
- Maintain accurate customer records and case information.
- Identify opportunities to improve neighbourhoods and customer outcomes.
- Manage your own diary and prioritise a busy workload effectively.
About You:
- Experience or strong knowledge of housing, tenancy or neighbourhood management.
- Experience managing a busy caseload through to resolution.
- Confidence dealing with complex, sensitive or challenging situations.
- Strong knowledge of tenancy management and housing-related issues.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- A customer-focused approach and commitment to achieving positive outcomes.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues and external partner agencies.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and housing management systems.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential due to regular travel across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
