Bournemouth & Poole College is seeking a compassionate, proactive and dedicated Health & Therapy Support Coach to join our Student Experience – SEND team. In this rewarding role, you'll work directly with students who have a range of health, medical, sensory and communication needs, helping them access education, develop independence and achieve positive outcomes. About the Role
Working closely with the Student Health Practitioner and a range of internal and external professionals, you will help deliver health and therapy support that enables students to access learning and succeed during their time at College. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting students with identified health, medical, sensory and communication needs
- Assisting with the assessment of support requirements and contributing to person-centred support plans
- Reviewing care plans and risk assessments to ensure support remains effective and appropriate
- Delivering targeted interventions and monitoring student progress and outcomes
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, support services and external agencies
- Providing guidance, advocacy and signposting to appropriate support services
- Maintaining accurate student records and preparing reports on caseload activity
- Promoting health, wellbeing and inclusion through events, activities and peer-support initiatives
- Supporting colleagues to implement strategies and recommendations from health and therapy professionals
- Upholding confidentiality, safeguarding and GDPR requirements at all times

- Have experience supporting individuals with additional support needs
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to build positive relationships with students, families, staff and external professionals
- Be organised and capable of managing a varied caseload
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Be able to advocate for students and support positive outcomes
- Have strong administrative and record-keeping skills
- Be resilient, empathetic and calm under pressure
- Be committed to inclusion, safeguarding and student wellbeing
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team
- Experience within education, SEND, health, therapy or support services would be advantageous.
