We are recruiting for a maintenance engineer to join a large, well-invested site. £24 million has been invested recently updating existing machinery and implementing new production lines, increasing production by 50%. This is a high-performing facility with state-of-the-art machinery and an experienced engineering team. You'll benefit from an excellent rota that allows for regular long weekends off while earning a strong base salary and enjoying long-term job security.

As a maintenance engineer, you'll work with a range of machinery including:

  • Large mixers and slicers
  • Ovens, extruders and palletisers

Your focus will be 70% reactive and 30% PPM, using a tablet system for job tracking. This role places a strong emphasis on both electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair. You'll need to be confident working with hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, chains, sensors, and control panels. Experience fault finding via PLC is also needed.

To succeed in this role as a maintenance engineer, you'll need:

  • A strong background in maintenance within manufacturing environments
  • Experience working on both mechanical and electrical components whilst abiding to H&S regulations
  • Confidence with strip-downs, rebuilds, and reactive maintenance
  • An NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in engineering (ex-Forces welcome)
  • A proactive attitude and flexibility for overtime and development
