Hardware Engineer | Edinburgh | Β£30-40k DOE

Were looking for an engineer to join a disruptive semiconductor company developing ground breaking technology in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities
Design, develop and validate high-speed digital electronics, FPGA solutions, embedded software and application software.
Build and automate product testing and characterisation using Python, developing repeatable test plans and customer-facing technical reports.
Support customers and partners with technical evaluations, demonstrations, training, integration and first-line technical support.
Represent the company at customer sites, trade shows and industry events, feeding customer insight back into product development and engineering

Technical Requirements
Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related subject, with some relevant industry, internship or project experience.
Exposure to electronics design, including schematic capture (e.g. Altium/OrCAD) and hands-on hardware bring-up, debugging and rework.
Experience or academic/project exposure to C, Python and FPGA design, with an understanding of software development practices.

Fast learner and naturally inquisitive, able to quickly understand new technologies and apply them practically.
Proactive, reliable and adaptable, with the confidence to work autonomously in a rapidly changing environment.
Strong communicator who can translate technical problems between customer engineering teams and internal engineering.
Detail-oriented team player with a genuine enthusiasm for engineering and modern development practices, including AI-assisted workflows.

Bonus Skills
Experience working across the hardware/software interface, particularly where system constraints and interfaces are critical.
Exposure to high-speed digital design or FPGA development.
Experience with automated testing, technical documentation, specifications or customer-facing engineering.
Comfortable combining hands-on development with customer visits, demonstrations and field engineering, including international travel.
