Ajax Equipment is looking for an experienced Design Project Engineer to lead the successful delivery of solids handling and process equipment projects, from initial concept and detailed design to manufacture. This is a hands-on role combining mechanical design, engineering calculations, project management, and customer liaison.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead projects from order through to completion
- Develop and draw concepts, layouts, GA drawings, and detailed manufacturing drawings
- Perform engineering calculations and technical assessments
- Act as the primary technical contact for customers and suppliers
- Coordinate project activities across design, manufacturing, procurement, and installation
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards including ATEX, PED, and Machinery Directive
- Support and mentor junior engineers where appropriate
About You:
- 5+ years' experience in mechanical engineering, project engineering, or machine design
- Awareness of solids handling, bulk materials, or process equipment
- Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Comfortable managing multiple engineering projects simultaneously
- Open mind and willing to learn
