Our client is a leading international main contractor delivering some of Europe's most advanced hyperscale and mission-critical data centre developments. They are seeking an experienced Senior CSA Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial delivery team on a landmark £10bn hyperscale data centre campus in Blyth, North East England. This flagship development, one of the largest data centre campuses in Europe, will be delivered over the next decade and represents one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial management of Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) packages, ensuring effective cost control, contract compliance and successful commercial delivery throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with Commercial Managers, Project Directors, Construction Managers, engineering teams, subcontractors and client representatives, you will manage procurement, valuations, variations, cost reporting and subcontractor accounts across major CSA workstreams within a complex, fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial delivery of CSA packages across the full project lifecycle
- Prepare and review valuations, payment applications and variation accounts
- Manage subcontractor accounts, procurement activities and contractual obligations
- Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts and commercial reporting
- Support procurement and negotiation of major CSA subcontract packages
- Identify, assess and manage commercial risks, opportunities and change
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements and commercial procedures
- Work closely with construction and engineering teams to align scope, cost and programme
- Manage change control, compensation events, claims and commercial negotiations
- Liaise with clients, consultants and subcontractors on commercial matters
- Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts and financial reviews
- Support project close-out, final accounts and handover activities
- Mentor junior commercial team members and contribute to continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong CSA exposure
- Previous experience working for a main contractor delivering large-scale data centres, mission-critical, industrial or complex commercial projects
- Strong technical understanding of civil, structural and architectural construction packages
- Experience managing large subcontract packages and complex commercial interfaces
- Good knowledge of construction contracts, valuations, procurement and cost control
- Strong negotiation, analytical and stakeholder management skills
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
- Experience working within large multidisciplinary project environments
- Strong understanding of project controls, reporting and commercial governance
