An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HR Manager to join an established business based in Crumlin. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of the day-to-day HR function and provide support and guidance to eight managers across the business.

Initially, this will be a hands-on, operational role focused on reviewing and improving existing HR processes, ensuring contracts, employee records and policies are accurate and up to date, and introducing greater structure and consistency across the business. As the HR function develops, there will be genuine opportunity for the successful candidate to become increasingly involved in the wider HR strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day HR function and support managers with HR matters.
  • Review contracts, employee records and HR documentation, ensuring information is accurately maintained on the HR system.
  • Review and maintain HR policies and procedures in line with current employment legislation.
  • Manage employee relations matters including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  • Establish effective 1:1, appraisal and performance management processes.
  • Review and improve recruitment, interview, onboarding and induction processes.
  • Identify and coordinate training and development requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in line with GDPR.
  • Monitor relevant HR KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance to managers and ensure HR policies and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential HR matters with complete discretion.
  • Over time, support the MD with wider people initiatives including engagement, retention, talent management and workforce planning.

About You

We are open to candidates at different stages of their HR career. You may already be an experienced HR Manager who can hit the ground running, or an ambitious HR Advisor/Senior HR Advisor with around 2-3 years' experience looking to take the next step.

You will ideally have:

  • Generalist HR experience and a good understanding of UK employment law.
  • Experience supporting employee relations matters.
  • Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, contracts and employee documentation.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with managers and senior leadership.
  • A professional, trustworthy and discreet approach.
  • The confidence to challenge and support managers when required.
  • CIPD qualification or working towards CIPD would be advantageous.
