An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Manager to join a growing organisation operating across Children's Social Care and Independent Fostering. This is a key position supporting senior leadership teams, Registered Managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle. The successful candidate will play a central role in safer recruitment, employee relations, safeguarding, workforce planning, learning and development and HR compliance, ensuring the organisation continues to meet the highest professional and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full employee lifecycle.
  • Provide professional HR advice and support to senior leaders and Registered Managers.
  • Lead and oversee safer recruitment processes.
  • Manage DBS, right-to-work, references, qualification and employment checks.
  • Manage complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance cases.
  • Support workforce planning and organisational development.
  • Develop, review and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Identify training needs and support learning and development programmes.
  • Monitor staff absence, performance and employee wellbeing.
  • Support safeguarding processes and maintain appropriate employment records.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare workforce information and documentation for Ofsted and other regulatory inspections.
  • Promote employee engagement, retention and a positive organisational culture.

About You

We are looking for an experienced HR professional who can operate confidently at both a strategic and operational level. You will ideally have:

  • Significant HR management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Experience managing complex employee relations cases.
  • Experience in safer recruitment.
  • Experience within children's social care, fostering, education, healthcare or another regulated care environment.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and compliance.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and leadership skills.
  • Experience developing HR policies and procedures.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • A CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience would be desirable.
  • Experience supporting Ofsted-regulated services would be advantageous.
