A well-established and reputable engineering company based in West Bromwich is looking to recruit an experienced Workshop Engineer with a background in industrial pumps. This is a great opportunity to join a busy, growing workshop with a strong reputation for quality and service.
The Role
As a Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and overhaul of a wide range of industrial pumps and associated equipment. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong mechanical knowledge and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Strip, inspect, and rebuild a variety of industrial pumps (centrifugal, gear, etc.)
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently
- Replace components such as bearings, seals, and shafts
- Carry out pressure testing and performance checks
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety
- Maintain accurate service and inspection records
Requirements
- Proven experience working with industrial pumps in a workshop environment
- Strong mechanical engineering background
- Experience with fault finding and equipment rebuilds
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Familiarity with rotating equipment (desirable)
- Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
