Contek Recruitment are representing their client , a well-established and growing precision engineering manufacturer based in Birmingham, who are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Toolmaker / CNC Machinist to join their highly skilled team.
Following continued investment and an increase in long-term customer demand, this is an excellent opportunity to join a modern precision engineering business supplying high-specification tooling and fixtures into demanding manufacturing sectors.
This position would suit a highly skilled Toolmaker or CNC Machinist who enjoys working on complex, one-off and small batch precision components, taking ownership of jobs from programming through to finished inspection.
The Role Working within a clean, well-equipped machine shop, you will be responsible for manufacturing precision tooling, fixtures and bespoke machined components to extremely tight tolerances.
You will play a key role in producing high-quality work while supporting continuous improvement across the workshop.
Key Responsibilities Programming, setting and operating CNC machinery using Fanuc controls.
Manufacturing precision tooling, fixtures and specialist components.
Producing components from engineering drawings to tight tolerances.
Using Fusion 360 for machining strategies and model manipulation.
Editing and optimising CNC programs where required.
Maintaining the highest quality standards throughout production.
Solving machining and manufacturing challenges independently.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.
Working closely with colleagues to deliver projects on time.
Candidate Requirements Time-served Toolmaker or experienced CNC Machinist.
Strong Fanuc programming experience is essential.
Previous experience within precision engineering.
Experience producing high-accuracy tooling or fixtures.
Fusion 360 experience is highly desirable.
Experience with EZCAM Mill Pro would be advantageous, although full training can be provided.
Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
Experience working to micron-level tolerances.
Methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.
Self-motivated with strong problem-solving ability.
What's on Offer Excellent salary (dependent upon experience). 10% performance-related bonus. 5 weeks annual leave plus statutory bank holidays.
Permanent, full-time position. 40-hour working week.
Working hours: 7:30am 3:30pm , Monday to Friday (including a 15-minute paid lunch break).
