Slitting / Shearing Machine Operator - Birmingham - up to £14 per hour + Bonus

My client is a manufacturing company supplying high precision metal components to customers across the UK.

Role summary: Setting up and operating metal processing machinery; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies

Responsibilities / Tasks:
Plan machining by studying job cards, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances, and setting up accurately.

Load feed mechanism by lifting material into position.

Maintain specifications by observing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

Document actions by completing job cards.

Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

Accomplish company goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
