Senior Social Worker in Birmingham

As a Children's Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. You will work closely with families, carers, and other professionals to assess needs, develop care plans, and provide ongoing support. Our services will always be joined up and you will develop robust partnerships with other teams and outside agencies, including the police, health, schools, and voluntary organisations.

This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham, so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Sadly, we do not support those who require sponsorship.

The Children with Disabilities Service works with children and young people who have permanent disabilities that impact their day-to-day life. We are a through service meaning we stay with the child throughout their journey with social care, completing their assessment and any further intervention if required by way of child in need, child protection, or child in care processes. We are aspirational for our children and celebrate their successes.

We are seeking a permanent, full-time Senior Social Worker for the team which is a city-wide role. The team is based at the office at Lifford House in Stirchley. There is ample free parking available.

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals who are committed to making a difference. The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in Social Work and must have completed your ASYE.
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Extensive experience working with children and families in a social work setting.
• Strong assessment and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of good social work practice to support and guide others.
• Strong organisation and time management skills.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

In addition to the salary offered, there is an incentive payment of £1,000 and a retention payment of up to £5,000 per annum, subject to tax and NI deductions - T&Cs will apply. A generous annual leave package of 30 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, rising to 33 days after 5 years of service and 35 days after 10 years of service. Free on-site parking at our offices on One Avenue Road (Aston) and Lifford House (Stirchley). We also provide onsite electric car charging ports which are free to use!
