Help deliver technology that genuinely makes a difference to patient care. There are very few project management roles where the outcomes of your work can have such a direct impact on clinicians, hospitals and ultimately patients. This is an opportunity to lead the delivery of complex healthcare software programmes that sit at the heart of NHS operations. Every successful implementation helps healthcare professionals work more efficiently, improves access to critical information and supports better patient outcomes.

If you're an experienced software vendor-side Project Manager who enjoys leading large-scale enterprise projects, navigating complexity and building lasting client relationships, this role offers both professional challenge and genuine personal reward.

Why this opportunity stands out

This isn't simply about delivering software on time and on budget. It's about partnering with NHS organisations to modernise critical services through technology that healthcare professionals rely upon every single day. You'll work alongside talented delivery, product and technical teams to implement solutions that support clinicians and healthcare organisations across the UK. The projects are substantial, highly visible and genuinely mission-critical.

The successful candidate will join an organisation that is continually investing in innovation and technology, offering the opportunity to work on programmes that have real-world impact whilst developing your own career within a growing global healthcare technology environment.

The role:

As Senior Project Manager, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of complex healthcare software implementation projects, leading multidisciplinary teams from initiation through to successful go-live and customer acceptance. You'll be the person clients trust to steer programmes through complexity, manage competing priorities and ensure successful business outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading multiple enterprise healthcare software implementations within NHS environments
  • Managing full project lifecycles from planning through to deployment and contractual acceptance
  • Building strong relationships with senior NHS stakeholders and executive sponsors
  • Managing project budgets, forecasts, billing milestones and commercial performance
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks, issues and dependencies
  • Coordinating resources across delivery, development, technical and third-party supplier teams
  • Driving continuous improvement across project methodologies, tools and delivery processes
  • Producing executive-level reporting and presenting programme status to senior stakeholders
  • Leading, mentoring and motivating project teams to achieve exceptional customer outcomes

About you

You'll be someone who thrives on responsibility, enjoys solving complex challenges and can confidently operate at both strategic and detailed levels. Most importantly, you'll understand the realities of delivering large-scale software projects from the vendor side and know how to balance customer expectations, commercial objectives and successful delivery.

We're particularly interested in people who can bring:

  • Proven experience delivering enterprise healthcare or clinical software into the NHS from a software vendor or implementation partner
  • Experience managing large, complex programmes with significant budgets, multiple workstreams and numerous stakeholder groups
  • At least one full lifecycle project lasting 2-3 years with £1M+ value
  • Strong commercial awareness including change control, milestone management and project financials
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, from operational teams through to board-level executives
  • Prince2 Practitioner certification.
  • Strong leadership capability within matrix-managed environments
  • An organised, calm and structured approach to project delivery

What's in it for you?

  • Fully remote working with occasional NHS customer visits
  • Opportunity to lead high-profile healthcare technology programmes
  • Visible impact on healthcare delivery and patient services
  • Exposure to complex, enterprise-scale implementations
  • A collaborative and supportive professional environment
  • Strong career development opportunities within a growing healthcare technology organisation
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive company benefits
  • The satisfaction of knowing your work ultimately contributes to improving services for healthcare professionals and patients across the UK.

If you're looking for a role where you can combine enterprise software delivery expertise with meaningful, purpose-driven work, this could be one of the most rewarding project management opportunities in the healthcare technology sector.
