Panoramic Associates is currently working with a Local Authority client based in the Midlands to facilitate the appointment of an experienced Senior Commercial Contracts/Construction Lawyer to support the legal service with a varied caseload of commercial contracts and construction-related matters.

Responsibilities of the

Role: Advising on a range of commercial contracts matters, including drafting, negotiating and reviewing agreements.

Providing legal support on construction-related matters, including development and works contracts.

Advising on contract risk, governance, and compliance, ensuring robust and defensible decision-making.

Supporting procurement and commissioning activity, including advising through tender processes and contract award.

Working closely with internal stakeholders to progress matters efficiently and pragmatically within service timeframes.

To be successful in the role you will have: Significant experience working within a Local Authority (or wider public sector) legal setting.

Strong technical experience in commercial contracts, ideally with exposure to construction law and related documentation.

Confidence advising a range of stakeholders and providing clear, practical guidance.

The ability to manage a busy caseload with minimal supervision and deliver to deadlines.

Next Steps This role is an initial 6-month contract with likely extension and offering £55–£65 per hour Inside IR35 (dependent on experience).

This is a hybrid role, with office attendance required as needed.
