Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity this September? We, CPSS, are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-respected primary school in Birmingham that is on the lookout for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work in one of their year 1 classes. This role will include 1-to-1 support as well as assisting with personal care. This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026 and continuing until April 2027.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide engaging 1-to-1 sessions for year 1 pupil/s with SEND
  • Support pupils' learning, communication and social development both inside and outside the classroom
  • Work closely with both the SENDCO and teacher to deliver relevant and tailored learning plans

The role will include assisting with personal care, therefore the successful candidate must be able to support the pupils' personal care needs with patience and compassion.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience supporting children with SEND in a school or similar setting
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS (must be on the update service)
  • Has relevant qualifications or experience
  • Willingness to complete relevant training continually when needed
