A Senior Architect is required for an established, award-winning AJ Top 100 architectural practice to join its growing Data Centre team in their office in the Jewellery Quarter area of central Birmingham.

The practice is delivering a significant portfolio of major Data Centre developments across the UK and internationally, working on technically complex schemes that combine architecture, engineering, sustainability and advanced digital design.

Sustainability is a genuine part of our clients design philosophy, with a focus on creating high-quality, future-proof buildings that minimise environmental impact while delivering long-term value for clients and communities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Architect with genuine Data Centre experience to join a busy and expanding specialist team with a strong existing workload and future project pipeline.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the technical delivery of major schemes, particularly through RIBA Stage 4, detailed design and tender/construction packages, working closely with multidisciplinary consultants, contractors and clients.

Salary & Benefits
Salary £45,000 to £55,000 DOE
Hybrid working, typically 3 days in the office Tuesday-Thursday, with flexibility to work remotely Monday and Friday.
25 days' annual leave + 1 day for birthday, plus bank holidays.

Senior Architect Overview
Lead and support the technical delivery of large-scale Data Centre projects.

Deliver projects through RIBA Stage 4 with a strong focus on detailed design and technical packages.

Produce and coordinate high-quality tender and construction information.

Coordinate architectural information with structural, MEP and specialist engineering consultants.

Work closely with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams throughout project delivery.

Ensure designs meet technical, regulatory and client-specific requirements.

Resolve complex technical and buildability issues throughout the design process.

Utilise BIM and digital technologies to improve coordination and project delivery.

Attend design team, client and technical coordination meetings.

Support junior team members and contribute to maintaining high technical standards across projects.

Senior Architect Requirements
Previous Data Centre experience is essential.

Proven involvement in the technical delivery of Data Centre projects rather than solely front-end design or planning.

Strong experience across RIBA Stage 4, detailed design and tender/construction packages.

Excellent technical detailing and construction knowledge.

Strong understanding of multidisciplinary coordination on complex projects.

Strong Revit experience
Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and relevant technical standards.

Strong communication and client-facing skills.

Ability to manage responsibilities independently while working within a wider project team.
