Blue Arrow are currently recruiting for a Passenger Transport Driver to join our client on a permanent basis. Your role will be to provide safe and reliable transport for adults with complex needs, delivering scheduled transport routes to and from the centre in Harborne. This role also includes maintaining high vehicle safety standards, and undertaking required training to ensure transport is delivered safely, professionally and in line with organisation values.

About this client: A charity organisation in Birmingham, delivering community support services to disabled people across Birmingham and the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely transport individuals to and from home, appointments, and activities in line with schedules
  • Adhere with all traffic laws, regulations and organisational properties
  • Adapt driving approach to meet the needs of individuals with visual impairments and complex needs
  • Assist individuals when boarding and exiting vehicles, including use of mobility aids where required
  • Ensure seat belts, wheelchair restraints and other safety equipment are used correctly
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and maintenance, reporting any issues promptly
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle use, mileage and checks
Requirements:
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • D1 licence
  • Experience of driving passengers
  • Ability to conduct yourself in a calm and respectful manner, reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work
  • Good communication and patience demeanour
  • Enhanced DBS disclosure
Desirable: experience working with individuals with disabilities, including visual impairment.

Hours: 15 or 20 hours a week, 7am-9.30am and 3pm-5.30pm

Pay Rate: £12.88 per hour
