As a Field Service Technician, you will service and maintain world-class CNC machinery at customer sites across the Midlands, predominantly in and around Birmingham, and you will be home most nights. You will carry out preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical issues and keep every machine performing at its peak, building your skills steadily until you become the go-to expert in your area. Job Responsibilities
- Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance on CNC machinery to minimise downtime
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults quickly and effectively
- Replacing, adjusting and aligning mechanical components to meet specification
- Conducting inspections and completing detailed service reports
- Providing basic operator guidance to customers following maintenance visits
- Liaising with the technical support team when additional expertise is required
- Maintaining your tools, equipment and service vehicle to a high standard
- Travelling to customer sites within your local patch, with minimal overnight stays
- Building your product knowledge through ongoing training and development
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements
Skills and Experience
- A practical, mechanically minded nature, whether from work or from hobbies such as working on cars, bikes or machinery at home
- Hands-on experience with machinery or lathes, which is ideal but genuinely not essential, as full training is provided
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Comfort travelling within a local patch and dealing with customers on site
- A full UK driving licence
- A professional approach with good communication skills
- Most importantly, a genuine desire to learn and grow, as no electrical or product knowledge is required to start
Pay and Benefits
- Salary up to £30,000 depending on experience
- OTE circa £37,000 with bonuses
- Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week
