Job Description:
We're recruiting on behalf of an established engineering fabrication business in Birmingham for an experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator Welder to join their busy workshop on a temp-to-perm basis, with a permanent position offered to the right candidate after a qualifying period.
This is a varied, hands-on sheet metal role covering a genuine mix of fabrication work no repetitive production-line output. As a fabricator welder , you'll be working across stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, producing quality fabricated components and assemblies from engineering drawings.
What you'll be doing:
Fabricating in stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel
TIG welding (particularly stainless steel and aluminium)
MIG welding
Sheet metal folding and forming
Guillotine cutting
Press brake operation
Rolling/forming sheet materials
Working accurately from engineering drawings
What we're looking for:
Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Fabricator in an industrial/engineering environment
Strong TIG welding skills, ideally on stainless and aluminium
Confident MIG welding ability
Experience with press brake, guillotine and folding equipment
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings unsupervised
Good attention to detail and a quality-first approach
