Channelglaze is a family-run business celebrating over 46 years of manufacturing bespoke aluminium windows for canal boats throughout the UK. We are looking for one practical, reliable individual to join our small workshop team and help support our continued workload.

We take great pride in the products we manufacture and the reputation we have built within the canal boat industry. As a small business, everyone plays an important role, and we are looking for someone who wants to become a valued long-term member of the team.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manufacture bespoke aluminium windows from detailed works orders
  • Assemble window components accurately and to a high standard
  • Measure, cut and prepare materials using workshop equipment
  • Operate hand tools, power tools and machinery safely
  • Inspect, clean and prepare finished products for dispatch
  • Maintain a tidy and organised work area
  • Assist with loading and unloading deliveries
  • Support canal boat window fitting work at marinas when required
  • Work closely with colleagues to meet production schedules and customer expectations
  • Assist other areas of the business when necessary

Relevant Backgrounds

Applicants with backgrounds in joinery, cabinet making, boat building, coachbuilding, caravan manufacture, maintenance engineering and other practical trades are encouraged to apply. This role may also suit someone looking to move away from site-based work into a stable workshop environment while still remaining hands-on.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing quality work, is willing to learn and contribute, and is seeking a long-term position within a small team. Applicants with no previous practical hands-on experience are unlikely to be considered.

Applicants must be 25 or older due to the van insurance. Insurance is not available on goods vehicles for people under 25.
