JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm

JOB OVERVIEW: This is a great opportunity for a practical and quality-focused Production Operative to join a manufacturing team where you will learn production processes, operate specialist machinery and support the preparation of PVC components.

Working as the Production Operative, you will cut, prepare and process PVC materials in line with engineering drawings, production schedules and manufacturing requirements. As the Production Operative, you will help prepare PVC doors and associated components ready for sewing and assembly, while maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.

DUTIES

  • Prepare PVC Materials: Cut, prepare and process PVC materials in line with engineering drawings, cutting schedules and production instructions
  • Operate Production Machinery: Use CNC cutting equipment, high-frequency welding equipment, PVC taping machinery, hot gun and roller equipment safely and in line with training
  • Maintain Quality Standards: Meet daily production and quality standards within the work area, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all completed work
  • Follow Safe Working Procedures: Follow SOPs, health and safety procedures and safe systems of work at all times
  • Check Machinery: Carry out routine machinery checks and report faults, equipment problems or maintenance requirements to the relevant team leader
  • Control Materials: Use materials effectively, minimise scrap and reduce waste through accurate cutting and efficient working practices
  • Maintain Records: Complete accurate records and production documentation as required
  • Support Team Working: Work effectively with colleagues across production teams and support other production areas when required
  • Keep Work Areas Organised: Carry out housekeeping duties and keep work areas and machinery to the agreed standard in line with ISO9001: 2015 procedures
  • Support Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production area

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent timekeeping and a reliable, punctual approach
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to learn new production processes
  • Good attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
  • Practical manual skills and confidence carrying out hands-on tasks
  • Able to follow written and verbal production instructions
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physically able to carry out manual tasks
  • Flexible and willing to cross-train in other areas of the business
  • Safety conscious, organised and committed to maintaining high production standards
  • Previous experience working with PVC, fabric, textiles or flexible materials would be beneficial
  • Previous experience operating CNC cutting, high-frequency welding, taping or heat-sealing machinery would be beneficial
  • Experience within an engineering, fabrication or industrial manufacturing environment would be beneficial
  • A basic understanding of manufacturing drawings and tolerances would be beneficial
