About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Manager to lead our health, safety and environmental strategy across our manufacturing facility and customer sites. This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with employees, managers and contractors to drive compliance, continuous improvement and a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, including COSHH, PUWER, RIDDOR and associated regulations.
- Developing, implementing and continuously improving Health & Safety policies, procedures and emergency plans.
- Conducting risk assessments, audits and site inspections, ensuring hazards are identified and addressed.
- Leading accident, incident and near-miss investigations, implementing preventative actions.
- Delivering Health & Safety inductions, toolbox talks and training.
- Monitoring and reporting Health & Safety performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Managing contractor, visitor and environmental compliance, including waste management, hazardous substances and fire safety.
- Championing a proactive safety culture and supporting ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Driving the transition to digital Health & Safety systems and supporting the business's Zero Accident strategy and wellbeing initiatives.
About You
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
- IOSH Membership (GradIOSH or CMIOSH preferred).
- Previous Health & Safety leadership experience within manufacturing or another high-risk environment.
- Excellent knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, including COSHH, PUWER and RIDDOR.
- Experience working with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
- Strong communication, coaching and influencing skills, with the ability to engage colleagues at every level.
- A practical, hands-on approach with excellent analytical and reporting skills.
