An experienced Waste & Recycling Operations and Transport Manager is required to lead a production team at a fast-paced processing site in Billericay.
Salary: £60,000 plus Pension
Location: Billericay
The Role
As Operations and Transport Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy waste management or recycling facility.
A background working with materials such as biomass, wood waste, scrap metal, plastics, construction and demolition waste, composting, landfill, aggregates, anaerobic digestion, MRF/MBT operations, or other heavy industry.
Key duties include:
- Overseeing the intake, processing, and dispatch of waste materials.
- Ensuring all plant and equipment are properly maintained and operational.
- Maintaining compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety, and Quality standards.
- Managing the Transport and approx. 15 drivers.
- Managing, motivating, and developing a team of production staff.
- Supporting commercial activities and contributing to overall business performance.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Proven experience managing a waste processing or recycling site (although this is not essential).
- Required COTC/WAMITAB.
- Transport Managers CPC.
- NEBOSH or IOSH certification.
- A full UK driving licence.
