Our client, an educational establishment, located in Bexleyheath, are seeking a temporary experienced Assistant Cook to cover sickness leave for six weeks.
They are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and highly-motivated Assistant Cook to join their busy, established school catering team.
You will assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of nutritious, high-quality meals for their students and staff, while ensuring excellent standards of food hygiene and cleanliness are maintained across the kitchen and dining areas.
Hours 8.00 am 2.00 pm Monday to Friday Covers 340 per day Supported by a team of 4 PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU HOLD A CURENT ENHANCED DBS FOR CHILDREN Food Preparation & Cooking: Assist the second cook in preparing and cooking fresh, healthy meals in line with school nutritional guidelines and menus.
Service & Dining: Support the team during meal service, ensuring portion control, attractive presentation, and a welcoming environment for pupils.
Stock & Compliance: Assist with deliveries, stock rotation, and adhering strictly to Health, Safety, and Food Hygiene regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications Previous experience working in a school kitchen.
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or Level 2 Award in Food Safety An understanding of special dietary requirements and food allergies A positive, caring attitude and the ability to work comfortably alongside children and staff.
