Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the nursery.
  • Ensure the highest standards of care, education, and safeguarding are maintained.
  • Oversee the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Recruit, support, mentor, and develop nursery staff.
  • Maintain compliance with Ofsted requirements, safeguarding legislation, and all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and external agencies.
  • Manage nursery occupancy, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Drive continuous improvement and prepare for Ofsted inspections.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and inspiring workplace culture.

Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare (minimum essential).
  • Level 5 qualification in Leadership for Early Years or equivalent (desirable).
  • Proven experience in a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager, or Room Leader position.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and Ofsted standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
