The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, the firm is seeking an ambitious Private Family Solicitor to join its highly regarded Berkhamsted office. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with approximately two or more years' PQE looking to develop their career within a leading Private Family team, working alongside experienced specialists on a varied and often complex caseload. You will enjoy early responsibility, direct client contact and excellent mentoring whilst continuing to build your technical expertise across all aspects of private family law. Whether your ambition is to become a recognised specialist or ultimately progress into senior leadership, this role provides an outstanding platform for long-term career development.

The Role

As a Private Family Solicitor, you will:

  • Manage your own varied caseload of Private Family matters.
  • Advise clients on divorce and separation.
  • Handle financial remedy proceedings.
  • Advise on child arrangements and parental responsibility matters.
  • Prepare Court applications, witness statements and settlement documentation.
  • Draft pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements.
  • Undertake advocacy where appropriate and attend Court hearings.
  • Work alongside senior colleagues on more complex and high-net-worth matters.
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with clients during sensitive periods of their lives.
  • Contribute to networking, business development and the continued growth of the department.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:

  • Approximately 2+ years' PQE within Private Family Law.
  • Experience managing your own Private Family caseload.
  • Strong technical knowledge across divorce and financial remedy work.
  • Excellent client care and communication skills.
  • Confidence managing sensitive and emotionally challenging matters.
  • Strong drafting and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to learn from experienced colleagues.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in developing long-term client relationships.
  • A genuine ambition to continue progressing your Family Law career.
