What is the role?
We are seeking to recruit a Senior Architectural Technician to join the Technical Team. This role typically reports to the Technical Director. The purpose of the role is to support the Technical and Design teams to provide a practical and cost effective architectural service for the regional business and when this service is not delivered internally; to manage external consultants.
What you'll do as a Senior Architectural Technician:
- Producing cost effective technical information on CAD and to communicate this information to the Construction departments to maintain the build programme to ensure compliance with Building Control, NHBC and Persimmon Homes vision
- Responsible for the timely production of both presentation and construction information to ensure design concepts are communicated and implemented accurately and we meet our quality objectives
- Applying a comprehensive knowledge of the current Domestic Building Regulations and NHBC Standards and ensure compliance for the build process ensuring we meet our regulatory standards and divisional targets.
- Establishing good working relationships with Site and office based staff to ensure schemes are constructed both as intended and within forecasted timescales and to encourage feedback for inclusion in future schemes to avoid wastage and improve the product
- Producing working drawing information that ensures schemes are designed to Persimmon standards to suit building, marketing and economic considerations and maintain a level of unit consistency and efficiency
- Given proven experience the role will involve mentoring and training junior members of the team and developing their skills to a sufficient level where they can take on more responsibility and add value to the team, thus improving productivity within the region
- On occasion providing assistance to the Architectural Manager in resolving construction issues
- Obtaining statutory approvals, liaising with local authorities and preparing development specific construction information.
- Provide support to the Land Department to assist in purification of planning conditions and to the Sales Department in the preparation of marketing information.
What experience do I need?
- A technical qualification or you are qualified through experience and have sufficient working drawings experience along with building regulations and NHBC knowledge.
- Experience of working on residential housing schemes within a developer or housebuilder is required.
- AutoCAD technical skills are essential.
- Full UK driving licence.
- To understand and have a good knowledge of technical detailing and the construction process.
