About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented QA Operative to join our Quality Assurance team. This is a key role within the business, encompassing all aspects of day-to-day QA duties including analysis of loads arriving on site, monitoring the quality of products leaving site, and communicating quality issues to other departments, particularly the production management team. The successful candidate will work closely with machine operators and process controllers to ensure production output is maintained to the highest possible standard.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete QA documentation by accurately recording information relating to each production run
- Ensure all necessary checks are completed before each production run commences
- Collect destructive samples of finished product and record findings in line with customer specifications
- Collect and record samples for shelf-life analysis and take regular samples of outgraded product
- Work as part of a team with machine operators and process controllers to maintain high production standards
- Mentor line operatives, helping them understand how high quality is achieved while eliminating poor practices
- Carry out routine checks including: Check-weigher calibration, Chemical dosing levels, Probe calibration
- Carry out the internal target inspection process
- Conduct internal audits across the site
- Ensure all paperwork is submitted accurately and on time to the relevant departments
- Follow Health & Safety policies and report incidents or near misses through the correct channels
- Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by management

- Carry out duties efficiently with concern for effective use of time and resources
- Take responsibility for personal development and training opportunities
- Support continuous improvement across the department
