An established accountancy practice based in Bath is seeking an experienced Payroll Associate to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional with previous accountancy practice experience who enjoys managing a varied client portfolio and delivering a high-quality service.
The Role
You will be responsible for processing and managing payrolls for a diverse range of clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance and excellent customer service throughout.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls
- Submitting RTI returns and ensuring HMRC compliance
- Managing SSP, SMP and other statutory payments
- Administering workplace pensions and auto-enrolment
- Handling payroll queries from clients
- Maintaining payroll records and reports
- Managing payroll deadlines and ensuring timely delivery
For candidates seeking a full-time position, there may also be opportunities to support bookkeeping, accounts and wider practice administration duties.
About You
To be considered, you will have:
- Previous payroll experience gained within a UK accountancy practice
- Strong knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, RTI and payroll legislation
- Experience with pensions and auto-enrolment
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Confidence using payroll software and Microsoft Office - Experience with IRIS Staffology, Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or CIS reporting would be advantageous.
