If you enjoy turning forecasts into plans, keeping systems accurate, and building strong day-to-day relationships across Production and Quality teams, this is your chance to make a real difference.
As a Materials Controller , your key focus is straightforward but vital: ensure ingredients, including raw materials, are available for production, on time, in full, and without unnecessary waste.
Youll be the person who helps production teams breathe easier because the right materials are in the right place at the right time.
What youll be doing Purchase Order control: place and control Purchase Orders to support production requirements.
Supplier liaison: work with suppliers to ensure deliveries arrive on time and in full , raising issues early and resolving them effectively.
Material scheduling: schedule materials in line with production needs and regularly review plans against forecast changes.
Prevent stock issues: identify potential stock problems, investigate root causes, report clearly, and drive solutions.
Continuous improvement: constantly assess and review departmental requirements, looking for smarter ways to improve accuracy, service levels and efficiency.
Daily/weekly evaluation: review yields and maintain stock count accuracy to ensure the ordering system stays live and correct.
System accuracy: enter and maintain data in the online systems to keep records live, accurate and audit-ready.
What were looking for You dont need to have every line of experience already, what matters is that you have the habits and mindset required for this role.
Were ideally looking for someone with: Strong planning and organisational skills with a calm approach to changing priorities.
Accuracy and attention to detail , especially when managing stock, yields and ERP data.
Excellent communication, youll liaise regularly with Production and Quality, plus suppliers.
A problem-solving approach when stock risks emerge, along with the confidence to act and escalate appropriately.
Comfort with process and continuous improvement , not just keeping things running, but making them better over time.
