If you are an experienced facilities, estates or maintenance professional who takes pride in practical work, enjoys solving problems and is ready for greater responsibility, this is an opportunity to take the next step in your career.
Working across a distinctive school estate combining Grade II listed buildings, modern facilities, grounds and sports spaces, you will help keep Royal High Bath safe, secure and running smoothly.
Supporting the Facilities Manager, you will help coordinate the day-to-day work of the Estates Team while remaining actively involved in practical maintenance and facilities work yourself.
This is a varied, hands-on role, covering building maintenance and repairs, site security, health and safety checks, fire and compliance testing, grounds maintenance, building services, school events and lettings, vehicle checks and support for capital projects and renovations.
The role also forms part of the schools keyholder and emergency response arrangements, so occasional attendance outside normal working hours may be required.
You will have proven experience in facilities, estates, maintenance or a related field, together with experience of supervising or organising the work of others.
You will bring practical experience in areas including caretaking, plumbing and carpentry/joinery, alongside a working knowledge of IEE Wiring Regulations and health and safety requirements.
Relevant facilities qualifications, including IOSH and MIDAS, would be advantageous, or you should be willing to undertake them.
Experience within education would be welcome, but we are also keen to hear from candidates from other facilities and maintenance environments who can bring transferable skills.
This role could particularly suit an experienced Senior Caretaker, Site Supervisor, Facilities Officer, Estates Officer, Maintenance Supervisor or Facilities Supervisor looking for greater responsibility for people, priorities and the day-to-day operation of a busy site.
