About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sales Director to join a leading Passive Fire Protection contractor. This is a senior leadership position, responsible for driving the company's commercial growth, developing key client relationships and identifying new business opportunities across the UK.
The successful candidate will have a strong background within Passive Fire Protection and a proven track record of selling services to Tier 1 Main Contractors. You will be commercially driven, well connected within the construction sector and confident operating at senior level with key decision-makers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the company's sales and business development strategy.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within the Passive Fire Protection sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Tier 1 Main Contractors, developers and key construction clients.
- Develop existing client accounts and maximise opportunities for repeat and long-term business.
- Lead the preparation and submission of tenders, bids and commercial proposals.
- Work closely with estimating, pre-construction, commercial and operational teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Identify upcoming projects and develop strategies to position the business ahead of competitors.
- Attend client meetings, networking events and industry functions as a senior representative of the business.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and opportunities for business growth.
- Manage and develop the sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.
- Establish and maintain relationships with senior procurement, commercial and construction personnel.
- Contribute to the overall strategic direction and growth of the business.
- Lead, mentor and develop the wider sales/business development function as the company grows.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven senior-level sales/business development experience within Passive Fire Protection.
- A strong track record of successfully selling to Tier 1 Main Contractors.
- An established network of contacts across the UK construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of passive fire protection, including firestopping, compartmentation and associated passive fire systems.
- Demonstrable experience winning new business and securing sizeable contracts.
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- The ability to build relationships at director and senior decision-maker level.
- Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills.
- A strategic and commercially focused approach to sales.
- Experience managing and developing a sales/business development team would be advantageous.
- A proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
