Overview
BAE Systems is delivering a once-in-a-generation infrastructure investment programme, and are looking for a Senior Procurement Professional to help shape its success. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team delivering major capital investment within a live operational and maintenance environment, supporting projects that will transform our estate for years to come.
Clearance requirement: Eligible for SC clearance and UK eyes only
Key Responsibilities
- Develop sourcing and contracting strategies to support a 10+ year infrastructure investment programme across the North West.
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities, from tender strategy and documentation through to evaluation, negotiation and contract award.
- Partner with project teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver commercially robust procurement solutions.
- Identify and manage procurement risks, issues and contractual liabilities throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Provide commercial and supply chain support to major delivery programmes.
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to achieve the best outcomes for the business.
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies that improve value, performance and resilience.
Key Skills
- A solid understanding of procurement strategies, policies, processes and best practice.
- Experience in contract and supplier performance management.
- Procurement experience within infrastructure, estates management or a similar engineering environment.
- Experience leading or supporting procurements for specification-led design, manufacture or construction projects.
- Experience working within regulated or public sector environments (desirable).
- CIPS qualification or working towards CIPS (preferred).
