We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our busy Management team in Barnstaple dedicated to looking after the exceptional environment of North Devon - made up of its coastline, moors and historic urban and rural settlements centred on the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Braunton Burrows. Operational Services is seeking to appoint a Supervisor to:
- Provide supervision and technical support to maximise the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of the Waste & Recycling services.
- Be based at Brynsworthy Environment Centre and have experience of dealing diplomatically with a large cross-section of employees and customers.
- Be a team member with the ability to motivate others to deliver excellent high-quality services to our customers.
- Use a variety of IT apps/packages.
- Be responsible for carrying out inspections of field and site operations to ensure compliance of operations to safe working practices, to minimise relevant hazards.
- Carry out appraisals, manage sickness levels, deal with disciplinary issues and general staffing issues.
Knowledge of waste management & street cleansing operations, along with knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, is desirable. Full training for every aspect of the post will be provided.
