About The Role

The Production Engineer develops and governs manufacturing methods, documentation and production readiness activities, ensuring products are safe, manufacturable, repeatable and compliant throughout the product lifecycle, while driving continuous improvement, efficiency and operational performance.
Production Engineer will be based at our Barnstaple site. This role allows for flexible working.
The salary for this role is circa Β£40k, depending on experience.
Whatyoullbedoing Lead the development, implementation and optimisation of manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient, repeatable and high-quality production methods for both new and existing products
Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, supporting projects from concept through to production release and ensuring manufacturing readiness at key project milestones
Champion Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFM/DFA) principles, collaborating with engineering teams to improve product manufacturability and production efficiency
Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, manufacturing process plans, routings and configuration-controlled records
Investigate production challenges, lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve quality, safety, delivery performance and operational excellence
Act as a key interface between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Project teams, providing technical expertise, managing manufacturing risks and supporting continuous improvement initiatives

Theskills you need Relevant Engineering qualification (HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent experience) in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering
Experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, methods and documentation
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs and technical data
Experience developing manufacturing methods, SOPs, work instructions and production processes
Strong problem-solving, analytical and root cause investigation skills
