Forde Recruitment, a leading provider of workers, is seeking an Experienced Transport Planner to join our client's busy warehouse and logistics operation in their Barnsley office.
Transport Planner Responsibilities:
Arrange and establish time-bound plans for deliveries, collections, and other logistics activities.
Collaborate closely with various departments and teams within the company to ensure effective plan execution.
Maintain regular communication with third-party logistics companies, demonstrating exceptional time-management skills.
Monitor and oversee order and fulfilment phases to ensure seamless business operations.
Identify and improve inefficiencies in supply chains, including transport methods and logistics-related challenges.
Develop and maintain strong internal and external business relationships.
Create and implement plans and strategies in line with company policies and regulations, as directed by senior management.
Ensure appropriate workload allocation to complete daily plans in a timely manner.
Transport Planner Required Skills:
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Thrive in a challenging and high-pressure environment.
Strong attention to detail.
Experience working in a fast-paced logistics team, managing daily planning and operations for a large fleet of drivers.
Customer-focused with excellent booking management and query resolution skills.
(Preferred Skills):

IT Literate with high competency with Excel
Proficiency in Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) is preferred.
