Working Pattern: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm

Job Type: Mobile / Field Based

We are currently looking for an experienced FRA Carpenter / Passive Fire Protection Maintenance Technician for a permanent opportunity based around Barnet, North London, Middlesex. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced carpenter with fire door experience to join a busy Fire Management Repairs Team and work on essential fire safety and passive fire protection projects across residential properties and communal areas.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality fire door, carpentry and passive fire protection works while maintaining excellent standards of health and safety, compliance and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Installing, repairing and maintaining fire doors.
  • Carrying out fire door upgrade works.
  • Installing fully certified fire door sets.
  • Undertaking passive fire protection maintenance.
  • Carrying out fire-stopping works and minor remedial repairs.
  • Completing associated carpentry and finishing works.
  • Responding to works identified through Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs).
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
  • Using PDA/mobile technology to record jobs and updates.
  • Working independently and as part of a wider team.

This position is ideal for an experienced carpenter / fire door installer with a strong interest in passive fire protection. Candidates must have proven experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of fire doors, together with excellent attention to detail and an understanding of fire safety requirements.

Full training will be provided on the installation of certified fire door sets, with ongoing support to ensure work meets the required accreditation and compliance standards. You will need knowledge of BM TRADA accreditation standards, social housing experience, property maintenance or housing repairs experience, and experience working in occupied residential properties.
