Your new company Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Barnet to recruit a confident and motivated Cover Supervisor for a September 2026 start. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to gain valuable classroom experience within a secondary school setting. Your new role As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged in learning and complete the work set by their teacher. You will play a key role in maintaining a positive learning environment and supporting the school's high standards of behaviour and achievement.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Ensure students remain on task and engaged in their learning
- Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons
- Support the smooth running of the school day
- Build positive relationships with students and staff
