We are looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our friendly team based at Tarmac Crown Farm Sand & Gravel Quarry, near Northwich. This is accessible from Winsford, Northwich, Middlewich, Rudheath, Barnton, Frodsham, Chester, Crewe, Sandbach, Congleton and the surrounding areas.

Main ResponsibilitiesThe role of Multi Skilled Operative is part of a key team of Operatives producing dry aggregates material for the construction industry. As well as delivering best in class Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance for our Plant operations, as Multi Skilled Operative you will specifically focus on operational tasks including:
- Working with aggregates on site and operating machinery, mobile plant and marine dredging plant (including loading shovels, excavator and dumper)
- Weighbridge duties
- Loading shovel (mobile plant)
- Day to day maintenance of the plant, maintaining the highest levels of housekeeping
- Training and operation on static plant operations to help drive plant optimisation
- Working in a team to ensure that customers get good quality material and on-time deliveries
- Ensuring that Plant availability is maximised
- Assisting the Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targets
- Maintaining and driving a culture of zero harm and behavioural safety
- Compliance and awareness of Health and Safety measures around the site
Suitable candidates for the role of Multi Skilled Operative will be able to demonstrate proven experience preferably working within a similar aggregates environment or an Industrial or Factory environment as an Operative or Labourer.
As part of an operational team, the ideal candidate for the role of Multi Skilled Operative will also:
- Experience working within a Health and Safety based environment
- Good timekeeping and time management essential
- Experience of operating mobile plant including Loading Shovel, Dumper and Excavator
- Have knowledge of Risk Assessments (ideally within the role of Operative)
- Be flexible and happy to work as part of an effective Multi-Skilled Operational team, adapting to different tasks within the overall team
- Be self-motivated and able to motivate colleagues within the team
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge and experience of the industry, mobile plant and quarrying preferred but not essential
- Previous experience in mobile plant operations as a Multi Skilled Operative beneficial but not essential as training will be given to the successful candidate
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Be IT literate
