Maintenance Engineer (night shift) Haddenham, UK We are looking for a proactive and multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, Night Shift to join our Engineering team.
In this role, you will support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of production equipment during the night shift, carrying out planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and helping to drive continuous improvement across the site.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Follow site Health & Safety standards, including PPE, LOTO, isolation, safe entry, permit, and contractor control procedures.
Support a safe working environment by ensuring safety checks, job sign-offs, and equipment records are completed correctly.
Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems, GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, Environmental, and company standards.
Complete maintenance documentation accurately and ensure records are available for internal and external audits.
Carry out multi-skilled maintenance activities across electrical, mechanical, and controls disciplines.
Respond to breakdowns, troubleshoot faults, and ensure equipment is returned to a safe and serviceable condition.
Complete planned preventative maintenance activities and work orders within agreed timescales.
Record all maintenance work accurately in the CMMS, including spare parts usage.
Coordinate with stores personnel to ensure required spare parts are available.
Provide clear written handovers to the oncoming shift and communicate key issues effectively.
Work closely with Engineering, Production, Operations, Quality, and Project teams to improve equipment reliability, product quality, and operational performance.
Support the integration of new equipment into the manufacturing environment.
CANDIDATE PROFILE Experience working in a food manufacturing, FMCG, consumer products, or similar production environment.
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting experience in a production facility.
Multi-skilled engineering capability across electrical, mechanical, and controls.
Awareness of HACCP, PUWER, LOLER, and COSHH.
Good PC skills, including Microsoft Office 365.
Ability to interpret schematic diagrams.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Organised, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
