Strata Solicitors, Gallagher Bassett's in-house law firm, is seeking an experienced Claims Manager to lead our Defence team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motor claims professional with leadership experience who is passionate about delivering exceptional client service, developing high-performing teams, and driving operational excellence.
Working within our specialist Defence practice, you'll oversee a team handling motor claims on behalf of corporate clients, ensuring outstanding service delivery while supporting the continued growth and success of the business. As a key leader within Strata Solicitors, you'll play an important role in shaping team performance, strengthening client relationships, and contributing to strategic objectives.
As Claims Manager, you'll be responsible for the operational success of the Defence team, delivering excellent outcomes for clients, colleagues and the wider business. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, motivating and developing a team of Claims Handlers to achieve individual and team objectives.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key corporate clients.
- Ensuring service level agreements and KPIs are consistently achieved.
- Supporting strategic business objectives through effective management of people, processes and resources.
- Acting as a technical referral point for complex, high-value or sensitive claims.
- Managing performance, coaching, recruitment, appraisals and development plans.
- Preparing client reports, attending service review meetings, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Driving operational excellence, compliance standards and best practice across the team.
- Supporting complaint resolution and the successful management of escalated cases.
About You:
- Vast experience handling motor claims within a legal, insurance or claims management environment.
- Previous leadership or team management experience.
- Experience working directly with clients and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Strong technical claims knowledge across pre- and post-litigated claims.
- Excellent communication, coaching and people management skills.
