Academics are currently working with a welcoming Primary School in Ashford who are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated SEN team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and wants to make a real difference to their learning, confidence and development. For the right person, there is also the opportunity to be permanently hired by the school following a successful period.
The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including ASC, SLCN and SEMH, providing tailored support on both a 1:1 and small group intervention basis. You will play a key role in helping children access the curriculum, develop independence and build positive relationships within the school environment.
Alongside SEN support, there may also be opportunities to work within the wider classroom, supporting the class teacher and assisting with the learning and development of all pupils.
The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
- Strong SEN experience supporting children with additional needs OR previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant
- Experience supporting children with needs such as ASC, SLCN and/or SEMH (desirable)
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- An active DBS on the Update Service or be happy to apply for a new DBS
- The availability to work Monday-Friday, 08:30 - 15:30
