Overview
Reporting directly to the Tax Manager and ultimately to a Partner, you will play a key role within the Tax Department, primarily focusing on personal tax compliance with some exposure to tax advisory work. The ideal candidate will be ATT qualified and responsible for preparing Self Assessment Tax Returns and other tax-related submissions for a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, working closely with portfolio holders to ensure excellent client service and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and submitting Self Assessment Tax Returns in line with internal deadlines, client requirements, and statutory obligations.
- Preparing and submitting P11D, CT61, NRL, and CIS returns.
- Preparing and submitting Residential Capital Gains Tax returns to meet statutory filing requirements.
- Assisting with tax administration, including notices of coding and routine correspondence with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and clients.
- Keeping portfolio holders and other relevant team members informed of client developments and matters arising.
- Identifying potential risk areas within cases under your management.
- Recognising tax planning and advisory opportunities arising from client work and communicating these to portfolio holders.
- Contributing effectively to staff appraisal meetings.
- Continuously developing professional knowledge and technical skills through professional reading and attendance at Accountancy training courses and technical updates.
- Completing timesheets accurately on a daily basis.
- Undertaking any other reasonable duties as required.

- Essential Qualifications: ATT qualified, part-qualified CTA, fully CTA qualified, or qualified through relevant practical experience.
- Essential Skills and Experience: Experience preparing Self Assessment Tax Returns. Experience preparing P11D returns. Proficiency in using tax software and computer packages for the preparation of Self Assessment Tax Returns and P11Ds.
- Desirable Qualifications and Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar accountancy practice environment. Experience using the IRIS Accountancy Suite.
