Our beautiful care home Ashbourne Court is seeking a skilled and dedicated Gardener to join our team. As a Gardener, you will be responsible for maintaining our beautiful gardens. This is a hands-on role that requires knowledge of landscape maintenance, gardening techniques, and the use of power and hand tools. We are looking for someone with strong gardening knowledge.
Duties:
- Perform regular landscape maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns
- Plant, water, and care for flowers, shrubs, and trees
- Prune and shape plants to maintain their health and appearance
- Apply fertilizers and pesticides as needed
- Use of a jet wash to clean paths
- Clean and maintain garden beds by removing weeds and debris
- Operate power tools such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and blowers
- Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and pruners for various gardening tasks
- Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute landscaping projects
Requirements:
- Proven experience in gardening
- Knowledge of different plant species and their care requirements
- Familiarity with power tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Physical stamina to perform manual labour in various weather conditions
- Excellent time management skills to complete tasks efficiently
