Our client, a national technology company, is seeking an experienced Technical Lead with strong Java expertise to drive high-quality engineering across a modern, scalable software platform. This is a full-stack leadership role within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Technical duties include:
- Define solution architecture in partnership with the Head Architect
- Present architectural approaches and technical solutions to fellow Technical Leads
- Produce high-level documentation for agreed technical implementations
- Participate in solution design sessions, design workshops and peer code reviews
- Write high-quality, well-tested production code and refactor legacy components
- Apply best-practice development techniques, including design patterns and coding standards
- Contribute to user story creation, acceptance criteria, estimation and testing
- Fully engage in agile ceremonies: planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives
- Stay current with emerging technologies aligned to business and architectural needs
- Mentor and coach engineering team members to support their professional development
The successful candidate will be an experienced Full Stack Java professional with deep expertise in Java Spring, microservices architecture and event-driven systems using Kafka. Demonstrating strong capability in building robust, scalable and highly available solutions, with hands-on experience across Docker, Kubernetes, MongoDB and modern observability tooling. A solid grounding in design patterns, Domain-Driven Design and front-end development ideally React.js, alongside the ability to produce production-quality code with comprehensive test coverage.
Exceptional communication, proactive ownership, transparency and a solution-focused mindset are critical, as is a commitment to continuous learning, mentoring others and contributing positively to a high-tempo, collaborative engineering culture. You will work with modern technologies, tackle complex architectural challenges and have real influence on technical direction.
