Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their commercial team in Altrincham.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor / Estimator, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing competitive estimates and tender submissions for commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects
  • Producing detailed quantity take-offs and cost plans from drawings and specifications
  • Procuring subcontractors and obtaining competitive supplier quotations
  • Managing the commercial aspects of projects from tender stage through to final account
  • Preparing interim valuations, applications for payment, variations, and final accounts
  • Producing CVRs, cost reports, and commercial forecasts
  • Identifying commercial risks and value engineering opportunities
  • Working closely with Directors, Project Managers, and Site Teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Supporting successful project handovers from pre-construction into delivery

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Quantity Surveyor / Estimator will have:

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, or in a combined QS/Estimator role within the construction industry
  • Experience within commercial fit-out, refurbishment, design & build, or specialist contracting
  • Strong commercial awareness and estimating ability
  • Experience preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Excellent understanding of construction methods, procurement, and cost control
  • Good knowledge of JCT contracts
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and IT skills
  • A proactive and commercially focused approach
  • Full UK Driving Licence
