Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their commercial team in Altrincham.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor / Estimator, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing competitive estimates and tender submissions for commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects
- Producing detailed quantity take-offs and cost plans from drawings and specifications
- Procuring subcontractors and obtaining competitive supplier quotations
- Managing the commercial aspects of projects from tender stage through to final account
- Preparing interim valuations, applications for payment, variations, and final accounts
- Producing CVRs, cost reports, and commercial forecasts
- Identifying commercial risks and value engineering opportunities
- Working closely with Directors, Project Managers, and Site Teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Supporting successful project handovers from pre-construction into delivery
The Ideal Candidate
The successful Quantity Surveyor / Estimator will have:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, or in a combined QS/Estimator role within the construction industry
- Experience within commercial fit-out, refurbishment, design & build, or specialist contracting
- Strong commercial awareness and estimating ability
- Experience preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Excellent understanding of construction methods, procurement, and cost control
- Good knowledge of JCT contracts
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and IT skills
- A proactive and commercially focused approach
- Full UK Driving Licence
