We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established housing association for an experienced ASB Officer to join their team on an initial three-month temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional to step into a senior advisory role, providing specialist guidance on complex ASB and safeguarding cases while supporting frontline housing colleagues.

You will provide specialist advice and oversight on anti-social behaviour cases, ensuring appropriate enforcement action is considered and cases are progressed effectively. You will also act as a key contact for safeguarding matters and work closely with local authorities, community safety partnerships and other agencies. The role involves a combination of office-based work, home working and visits to local estates, including regular visits to a nearby Gypsy and Traveller site.

Key Responsibilities of an ASB Officer:

  • Provide specialist advice and oversight on complex ASB cases.
  • Advise Housing Officers and Housing Assistants on case progression and enforcement options.
  • Support the use of appropriate legal and enforcement tools.
  • Prepare and progress injunctions and other enforcement action.
  • Present lower-level cases at court where required.
  • Act as the lead contact for safeguarding matters.
  • Liaise with local authorities, police, community safety partnerships and other agencies.
  • Attend multi-agency meetings and partnership forums.
  • Support colleagues on estate visits involving serious or complex ASB.
  • Provide guidance and case discussions to frontline housing teams.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure cases are progressed appropriately.
  • Oversee housing management responsibilities associated with a local Gypsy and Traveller site, including approximately weekly visits.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong experience managing ASB cases within social housing.
  • Good knowledge of ASB enforcement legislation, tools and processes.
  • Experience with injunctions and other legal enforcement action.
  • Court experience and confidence presenting lower-level cases.
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience dealing with complex or sensitive cases.
  • Experience working with local authorities, police, community safety partnerships and other agencies.
  • A background in social housing or general-needs housing management.
  • The ability to provide specialist advice and guidance to housing colleagues.
  • Confidence attending challenging estate visits and dealing professionally with residents.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and case management skills.
  • A full driving licence and ability to travel between local sites.

What's on Offer?

  • Initial 3-month temporary contract, with potential for extension/permanent opportunities depending on recruitment.
  • 37 hours per week.
  • Hybrid working alongside office and estate-based requirements.
  • Competitive hourly rate.
  • Opportunity to work in a senior specialist ASB role without direct line management responsibility.
  • Immediate/short-notice start preferred.
