I'm working with a leading specialist civil engineering who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major data centre development. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key commercial role on a significant enabling works package, joining a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of complex infrastructure and construction projects across the UK.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll take commercial responsibility for a substantial package of works, working closely with the project team to ensure commercial success from procurement through to final account.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the commercial aspects of a major enabling works package
  • Administering NEC contracts and managing contractual obligations
  • Procurement and management of subcontractors
  • Preparing and agreeing valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs
  • Managing change control and compensation events
  • Building strong relationships with both internal and client teams
  • Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff where required

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or major construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Experience managing complex subcontract packages
  • Excellent commercial and contractual awareness
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced project environment
  • Experience on infrastructure, enabling works, earthworks, groundworks or large-scale construction projects would be advantageous
