Are you a Psychology graduate eager to gain practical experience supporting young people with their mental health and wellbeing? A Secondary School in Abingdon is seeking a dedicated and caring Mental Health Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Counsellors, Therapists, or Teachers.

As a Mental Health Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students experiencing emotional or mental health challenges.
  • Help students develop confidence, resilience, independence, and positive coping strategies.
  • Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
  • Observe and monitor students' wellbeing, engagement, and progress throughout the school day.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students while providing consistent emotional support.

We're looking for a Mental Health Assistant who is:

  • Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting young people.
  • A confident communicator with a genuine passion for mental health and wellbeing.

  • Pay: £93-£110 per day
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
